Why Frametra for Education

The forensic media literacy tool your students actually need

Most media literacy tools tell students whether a source is "credible" or not. Frametra shows them exactly why — and teaches them to think structurally about how news is built.

🔬

Structural forensics, not labels

Frametra doesn't label news as left, right, real, or fake. It deconstructs how a story is built — source attribution, claim density, editorial language — and lets students form their own judgments.

📄

Certified student submissions

Students can generate a Frametra Structural Certificate for any article they cite — a timestamped, ID-verified PDF showing their source quality review. Attach it to essays, assignments, or portfolios.

🖥️

Works in any browser, any device

Frametra is a Chrome extension that works on any Chromium-based browser. No app installs, no student accounts required for the free tier. Students are up and running in under 60 seconds.

📊

Classroom dashboards

Institutional plans include teacher-facing dashboards showing class-wide analysis activity, certificate submissions, and aggregate integrity score trends across article sources.

🇨🇦

Canadian data residency

Frametra.ca operates with Canadian data residency and is fully PIPEDA compliant. No student browsing data is collected or stored. Free-tier analysis runs entirely locally in the browser.

📚

Frequently asked by institutions

No. The free-tier heuristic analysis runs entirely locally in the student's browser — no article content or URLs leave their device. Paid-tier AI analysis sends article text to the Anthropic API for processing only. We do not collect, store, or sell student browsing data. Frametra is PIPEDA compliant.
No — and that's the point. Frametra does not label news as true, false, left, or right. It analyzes the structural architecture of how a story is written. This makes it genuinely useful for media literacy education: students learn to evaluate sources structurally rather than relying on algorithmic verdicts.
Frametra is a Chrome extension (Manifest V3) and works on all Chromium-based browsers including Chrome, Brave, Edge, and Arc. It works on any device that runs Chrome — Windows, Mac, Chromebook. Firefox and Safari versions are on our roadmap.
Yes. The free tier requires no account, no login, and no personal information. Students install the extension and use it immediately. Institutional plans that include certificate generation require students to enter their name for the certificate — nothing else.
Yes — all institutional plans include a 30-day pilot period at no cost. We'll set up a small cohort of students with full access so your faculty can evaluate it before committing to a full licence.
Yes. We accept purchase orders and can issue invoices in CAD or USD. HST is applied to Canadian transactions as required. Contact education@frametra.ca for procurement documentation.
