No. The free-tier heuristic analysis runs entirely locally in the student's browser — no article content or URLs leave their device. Paid-tier AI analysis sends article text to the Anthropic API for processing only. We do not collect, store, or sell student browsing data. Frametra is PIPEDA compliant.

Is Frametra a "fake news detector"? ⌄

No — and that's the point. Frametra does not label news as true, false, left, or right. It analyzes the structural architecture of how a story is written. This makes it genuinely useful for media literacy education: students learn to evaluate sources structurally rather than relying on algorithmic verdicts.

What browsers and devices does it support? ⌄

Frametra works on all Chromium-based browsers including Chrome, Brave, Edge, and Arc, as well as Firefox. It works on any device that runs Chrome, Edge, or Firefox — Windows, Mac, Chromebook. Install from the Chrome Web Store, the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store, or Firefox Add-ons. A Safari version is on our roadmap.

Can students use it without creating an account? ⌄

Yes. The free tier requires no account, no login, and no personal information. Students install the extension and use it immediately. Institutional plans that include certificate generation require students to enter their name for the certificate — nothing else.

Is there a pilot or trial period? ⌄

Yes — all institutional plans include a 30-day pilot period at no cost. We'll set up a small cohort of students with full access so your faculty can evaluate it before committing to a full licence.
